Wollastonite
CaSiO₃
Calcium silicate mineral supplied for ceramics, plastics, paints, and specialty industrial applications requiring low thermal expansion.
Overview
Wollastonite is a naturally occurring calcium metasilicate mineral with low moisture absorption, low thermal expansion, high brightness, and acicular crystal morphology. In ceramics it reduces fired shrinkage and acts as a flux. In plastics and coatings it functions as a reinforcing filler offering superior performance compared to conventional calcium carbonate.
