Overview

Silicon carbide is a synthetic mineral offering exceptional hardness, thermal conductivity, chemical resistance, and high-temperature stability. In refractories, SiC provides superior abrasion resistance and thermal shock performance. As an abrasive it is used for cutting hard ceramics and non-ferrous metals. In metallurgy it serves as a de-oxidiser and carburiser.
