Chamotte
Fired fireclay aggregate (Al₂O₃·SiO₂)
Calcined fireclay chamotte supplied for refractory bricks, monolithic linings, and ceramic body grog applications.
Overview
Chamotte is produced by calcining or firing fireclay at high temperatures to produce a stable, low-shrinkage refractory aggregate. It is a fundamental raw material in refractory brick manufacture, monolithic refractory systems, and ceramic body formulations where reduction of shrinkage and improved thermal shock resistance are required.
