Brown Fused Alumina
Al₂O₃
Brown fused alumina supplied for abrasives, refractory castables, surface blasting, and wear-resistant ceramic applications.
Overview
Brown fused alumina (BFA) is produced by fusing calcined bauxite in an electric arc furnace above 2000 °C, yielding a dense, hard, and tough alpha-alumina product. Its combination of hardness, toughness, and chemical stability makes it ideal for bonded and coated abrasives, refractory castables, and surface preparation applications.
