Andalusite
Alâ‚‚SiOâ‚…
Natural andalusite supplied for high-performance refractories, steel ladles, and kilns requiring thermal shock resistance.
Overview
Andalusite is a naturally occurring Al₂SiO₅ polymorph that converts to mullite upon heating above ~1350 °C, generating controlled expansion that minimises porosity and improves joint integrity in refractory products. It is prized for its low impurity level, self-sintering behaviour, and superior performance in steel ladles, blast furnace troughs, and ceramic kilns.
